The legendary PSTAR2 circumnavigated Australia by driver Stan Gorton and copilot Twig, is now reluctantly for sale.

But only as there is a new EV in the works destined for more road trips.

The Model Year 2024 Polestar 2 long range, delivered to Kangaroo Island in November 2023, has 59,000 km on the odometer and is near perfect condition.

The car still has 3 years warranty and roadside assist and connectivity from Polestar.

This is a Pilot package version with adaptive cruise, pilot assist to lane keeping and fog lights. It is not the Plus so no glass roof to heat up the interior.

Car had full legal tint on all windows, plus frontal PPF applied. Colour is metallic magnesium.

Prior to our most recent road trip to Western Australia, the car was serviced by Volvo Adelaide, receiving a clean bill of health, including battery. New Michelin Primacy 5 tyres were fitted prior to the trip. Got nearly 50,000 km out of the previous set, so these have another 40k.

The car has been garaged when it's not on trips, and these kms are exclusively long distance road trips, where much of the charging was slow overnight.

Importantly this is the improved refresh version, with 220 kW (300 HP) driving the real wheels, and a 82 kWh CATL battery that charges at 205 kW - 11 kW.

Car generally only charged to 80% on road trips, which takes about 30 mins, and when not in use between trips or any daily driving was stored at between 40 and 60%

Listed for 650 km WLTP, the car still gets its initial range with no real decline detected. The car easily gets between 400 and 500 km on the highway, doing 110 km/h or 90 km/h, respectively. The car generally predicts at least 200 km at 50 per cent when driving the highway speed limit.

The car's inbuilt Google maps and route planning is integrated with the car and makes amazingly accurate range predictions that makes road tripping very easy.

The car gets over-the-air software updates will continue to improve the car.

It really is a freaking good car.
