Very Orange - a sneek peak

VERY ORANGE is not a standard TESLA colour now days, but this is far from a standard Tesla.  No, this is one of around 20 Tesla Roadsters in Australia, one of less than 2,500 built and sold world wide, and we are here to meet the owner, take some photos and video to prepare it for sale on AmazingEV.com.au, our dedicated used EV marketplace.

This is not Simon Hackett's car

If you know Roadsters, then you would know Simon Hackett, Internet Entrepreneur, Tech investor, Pilot, long time AEVA Member and extreme EV enthusiast.

He literally put the Tesla Roadster on the map in Australia, in 2009 he imported Tesla Roadster number 186 from the USA and drove it from Darwin to Adelaide, in support of the Solar Challenge to prove the viability of EV’s.  He’s been an avid Tesla supporter and investor since, I wish I had followed his lead and bought Tesla shares!

But despite the resemblance to Simon’s first Roadster, this Roadster is not that car!

To Australia via Japan

This car, Drkstr (Darkstar) is right hand drive and is a genuine right hander, coming via Japan, then lovingly restored by one the most qualified Tesla tech’s in Australia, Tesla Australia’s longest serving employees. Google Tesla Roadster Darkstar and you’ll find that was the original name for the project!

We chat to the owner and find out more

Just a sneek preview at this stage as we prepare this amazing EV for sale, with shots, that I think you will agree – are stunning.

We’ll be getting together with the owner soon to have a chat about the history of this car and the story of the Roadster’s short but famous life.  So stay tuned.

Till then, don’t forget to check out the history of the Roadster, and you’ll find Darkstar was the original code name for he project way back when it was being conceived in the mid 2,000’s.
