Why would you sell your Model X
If you owned a Tesla Model X, why would you sell it when it’s almost the perfect EV? Ludicrous Mode, masses of storage and room for 6 or 7 inside, plus, just about automatic everything!
Well, we got a call from Stu in Seaforth, NSW and he’s agreed to reluctantly part with this amazing EV and we have listed on AmazingEV.com.au our dedicated used EV marketplace.
So what’s the story? This is a very fine example of a 2016 Tesla AWD Model X – P100D, the top of range X. And with Stu’s family leaving, there’s with no longer any need for the six seats, it’s for sale, in Sydney for AUD85,000. It was probably sold closer to AUD250,000 sot it’s a bargain.
It's the perfect combination of Performance and SUV
First though a bit of background on the Model X. Of course as we mentioned, it famous for those Falcon Wing (a gull wing would have been too small a bird) rear doors and for being one of, if not the fastest production road car, SUV, Luxury car or anything when it was launched in the USA in 2015.
It was launched here in Australia in 2016, in various model levels of battery size and seating arrangements etc. but this one, is the top of the line, the P100D with 100kWh battery, giving it still 500 km range, Ludirous mode and three row, six seat arrangement. And oh, it’s perfectly white on the inside!
It's got plenty of life left
And when the sceptics ask blankly how long EV’s will last, well this one is only nine years old with 111,000 km on the clock – could it be it’s only half way through it’s life?
Plus, thanks to Tesla, this one has Lifelong Unlimited Tesla Supercharging, from the Tesla Supercharger Network (like a petrol station for EV’s). Imagine we are selling a petrol car, with free petrol, for the the life of the car. Imagine someone selling an ICE car and offering $4,000 of free petrol a year, for the rest of the life of the car – It would be unbelievable.
And while the 100kWh battery was quoted around 550 range when new, due to some natural battery degradation, you can still get 500km range on a full charge!
Performance, Unbelievable
Oh, and that Ludicrous mode – that comes from 450kw of power, twin motors providing All Wheel Drive. Google it 450kw, that’s 600 bhp. Think Nissan GTR, Porsche Turbo, Mclaren 650S – serious power in a massive SUV.
So you push the Ludicrous Mode Button – and with those 22″ alloy wheels, it’s 0-100 km/h in 3.1 seconds. So despite it’s weight, at 2,450 kg (exactly the same as a 2024 Volvo XC60 Hybrid), you can beat almost anything in this P100D.
All the time being a true six seater in this model, so much room, with three rows of seats (the seven seater was an option). It is just a touch over 5 metres long, all the way from it’s front boot (froot) of 187L and with the seats down, 2,180.
And don’t forget the Toe Bar was standard – able to tow up to 2,250 kg braked.
Style, cutting edge
Inside it’s pure Marc Newson style comfort, that seat design, the Leather steering wheel, carbon inserts, big centre screen plus Drivers get a real dashboard. And the outstanding Tesla Sound System.
It’s got all the hallmark Tesla safety touches, too many to list, plus this one has almost every option – automatic everything. It is the complete package for a family car and ready for a new owner to give it a new lease on life.
